Rotorua radio listeners woke up to a new station this morning as TRN's Flava network debuts in the city on 89.6FM.
With Mai FM having vacated its 96.7FM frequency late last year, TRN Rotorua General Manager Aaron Gillions says Flava will fill a "gap in the radio market."
"We see Flava 89.6FM growing the Rotorua advertising market, rather than cutting into existing segments," says Gillions.

Flight Of The Conchords' good year continues. Having already picked up a Grammy and set new marks for New Zealand music with their #3 debut on the Billboard Charts, they're now odds on for an Emmy as well.

Phonographic Performances New Zealand (PPNZ) has appointed its new Managing Director, lawyer Kristin Bowman, succeeding Campbell Smith, who will concentrate now on his role as the CEO of RIANZ - spending part of the year in New Zealand, and part of the year working 'remotely' from the US.
